I’m sleepy
I woke this afternoon late
ate
took a bath
chased the cats out
chopped onion for our kidney bean hummus
and as though each hour were a day
I’m sleepy, and ready to dream
the rest of my night away
maybe I’m older than the timestamp they gave me
at the hospital 9-5 baby rush
